Dear friends,
Today I'm launching a new book: The Grasshopper Man and the Metamorphosis
of the Electronic Society. It represented seven years of intense
research, study and analysis through hundreds of books, several
dozen scientific articles, and more than three thousand journalistic
articles published in several countries.
The theme is: the transformation of our world; the civilizational
metamorphosis we are living in; why - in neuronal terms - politicians,
businessmen, liberal professionals, judges, lawmakers, doctors,
among others, plunge so many times into a crazy vertigo of robbery,
corruption and fraud around the world. If you have any doubt about
this, please, open today's paper. We are quickly moving towards
a Sixth Extinction. Refugee waves on virtually every continent,
growing social asymmetry, general impoverishment (world GDP is
declining, and population is increasing), the end of the middle
class - teachers, architects, dentists, engineers, etc. - the
end of the Rule of Law.
People are increasingly deeply absorbed inside robotic and cybernetic
systems. Hyper consumption and continuous entertainment. Politicians
thinking the world as if they were living in the nineteenth century.
Why? All this is the theme of this book. The Grasshopper Man.
It's not about a scenario of destruction, but yes about the understanding
of how it all happens; for only by knowing we can, each one of
us, go in direction contrary of a planetary extinction. And, finally,
knowing the generating principles of such crazy suicide run, it
is not about a justification for crimes or barbarities of any
kind, at any time or place. But the opposite!
Basically, it about is the discovery of genetic links between
humans and insects; of how, over more than two thousand years,
we have been changing a specific sector of our brains; and about
how we are now plunging into a new process of transformation,
conditioning our future, everything we know and our own survival.
I've written a lot, since I was young. Thus, over many years
I have published books, scientific articles, articles in newspapers
etc. I ask for special attention to this book. I'm sure it will
not leave anyone indifferent. This is not a complex book. I always
do my best to write with clarity and simplicity. Please read,
spread, disseminate. It is important to think, reflect, to question.
Look around. Think of the next generations, the coming future.
I believe the reading of The Grasshopper Man will change a lot
the way we see our societies, our history, and even our personal
lives. After its reading, the world changes. We change, inevitably.
