John Cage, Morton Feldman and Emanuel have something in common: Pimenta is linked to Cage, his master and great "discoverer" also in the American culture; Feldman is automatically linked to Cage and dedicates this piece For Aaron Copland, and is strongly associated to Jackson Pollock's painting. Ennio Morricone received, few time ago, an Oscar in Hollywood. More distant is the Estonian Arvo Pärt, but listening to his Spiegel im Piegel we discover a very Feldmanian lightness and a Cagean deepness. A music which must absolutely not be romantically performed. The infinite combinations of stylistic, historical and intellectual relations between the different composers are melted and articulated in the course of the concert in a path of open evolution but carefully defined. As always, the concert is dedicated to whom will be able to close the eyes and find in their own pupils lines and lines of colours and feel reverberate in their own ears melodies and followings, leaving themselves transported to beyond. The human element is melted in the red line of the music, in the beyond-dreamt universe of the marvellous cosmos of sound: so, one continues to dream, to travel along the music's railroad.

I knew Maurizio Barnetti about ten years ago. He is one of the most virtuous musicians I've met. His sensitivity is profoundly Italian - what is the same to say that it is absolutely refined, intelligent and subtle. He is a great artist. Years ago I dedicated to him another composition - Interior Folds. A very simple piece, or set of pieces. A composition oriented to his refinement, to his sensitivity. Now, I composed a new piece for him - Ghed. The Indo European root *ghed meant "to catch", and it is related to the inner sense of this piece. It is a challenge to the performer to catch all potentiality of it, through the expansion of his own potentiality. The music score was based on a graphical analysis of the centre of the Milk Way. And like other compositions of mine, it implicates a profound and creative involvement of the performer. The piece has ten minutes and it is divided in ten groups of one minute each. There are seven different colours in the graphical analysis of the Milk Way - each colour represents a complex set of tendencies. In terms of frequencies, to each colour it was applied an Indian raga series - from morning to evening. The day, the Universe, life that is present in sound.
