BERLIN (July 2009). Next 29 July, 19:30, at Babylon, the legendary movie theatre in Berlin, it will happen the world première of new film by the Italian movie director Dino Viani titled Un Giorno e un Altro Ancora (free translation: One day and another one). Dino Viani is an independent filmmaker who has participating in several festivals around the world, including the Biennale of Venice last year. The new Viani's film is about aging process and the last sequence of life. The movie uses music by the Brazilian composer Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta, who will perform a concert at the theatre before the film presentation. Emanuel Pimenta collaborated with John Cage between 1986 and 1992 and remains as composer for Merce Cunningham in New York City. The historical concert, with fragments of four compositions by Pimenta, will count with the projection of a visual artwork created by Dino Viani and Luca Reale on the images of the movie. The first musical piece will be a fragment of Kirkos - A Dialogue Between Josqin des Près and Marcel Duchamp, which works with artificial intelligence principles; followed by YARNAM, which was dedicated to Ornette Coleman and was created also based on Man Ray's artworks; 18/6, composed to celebrate ten years of John Cage's disappearance and recorded at the window of the legendary composer's home in New York City; and, finally, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. X, composed in 2003 for a concert in the Amalfi Coast, Italy. The collaboration between Dino Viani and Emanuel Pimenta knew another historical moment in May 20 2009 at the Cannes International Film Festival with the projection of the movie with simultaneous performance of the concert CANTO 6409.
